Charismatic Corrine Almeida took Melbourne by storm once again with another memorable performance at the Holy Family Convent Bambalalitiya dinner dance at Springvale Town hall.

She is the ageless Pop, Oriental and Baila Queen of Sri Lanka music, and time has not wearied nor lessened her impact or popularity as she trots the globe thrilling music lovers of all genres.

Decades in the business she loves has not extinguished the burning desire to thrill her thousands of fans who are never disappointed wherever she performs. He favourite saying is, ” I sing to win fans , not so much for the money anymore “. Her last gig may have underlined it more than most, going by comments from those involved.

An affable person in outlook but a straight shooter regarding her contract negotiations, she always discounts her worth to make it a win- win result for those wanting her services.

Corrine exudes energy, confidence and tireless delivery in a very professional way that often amazes,  and is a shining example of longevity which many younger vocalists taking in her performances strive to achieve.

She agreed to chat about her love for music and a deep connection to entertaining which has won her thousands of music lovers around the world and her story is about a natural urge to project herself through music.

A child star at age 9, she sky-rocketed her musical career to establish who she is over five decades.

Born in a family that had no shortage of musicians and entertainment abilities, it was no surprise that star class was a natural progression. Mum Noeline and brother Kevin are wonderfully talented musicans as well, although like most families,  sister Sharon being a surprising exception.

Corrine’s son Brandon Ingram continues the ingrained gift of music despite pursuing a future in Management, acting and the added gift as an author. But he has what it takes to turn heads whenever he grabs a microphone and releases a rich vocal ability.

The iconic performer sets herself aside from most entertainer’s with a regimented work ethic that demands dedication,  devotion and discipline, three famous D’s that deliver success. A strict fitness program which includes yoga and meditation keeps her trim and mentally geared to meet those challenging assignments.

Her commitments going forward are testament to the popularity and unwavering following she commands and there’s no sign of it letting up yet.

Australia and Melbourne await her return.
