Deploying AI Today …. For Sri Lanka-by Sarath Withana

Source:Thuppahis

Thank you for your thought-provoking lecture on Artificial Intelligence as the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its progression toward Agentic AI beyond Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). The depth of your analysis and clarity of explanation were intellectually stimulating and profoundly insightful.

I was particularly engaged by your comparison between AI hallucinations and the schizophrenic hallucinations experienced by Brian. As a student of cognitive psychoneurology, I appreciated how you described Brian as a multimodal prediction engine capable of generating internal models without external stimuli, and how this mechanism can malfunction in schizophrenia, leading to hallucinations. The analogy to AI hallucinations was both creative and intellectually compelling.

Your incorporation of the KSE framework—dividing AI learning into Knowledge (K), Skills (S), and Examination (E)—offered a practical pedagogical model for mastering AI concepts. Moreover, your guidance for students to engage in self-inquiry through the fundamental questions of what, how, and when provided a valuable roadmap for developing independent and analytical thinking.

I also found your reference to the Nobel Prize–winning discoveries of grid and place cells in the hippocampus especially insightful. Your observation that these neural structures underpin both spatial memory and creativity opens fascinating parallels with AI learning mechanisms. It was intriguing to consider that distinguished innovators like Steve Jobs may have strengthened their “how” and “what” neural circuits, while individuals such as Dr. Nandi Jasenthuliyana demonstrate exceptional “who” (His Massive networking capacities with people) through analogous grid cell activity. (Unfortunately, this is why we could not discover Einstein’s brain intelligence since this technology was not discovered then, but in the future, we can study these brain regions doing post-mortem exams.)

Furthermore, your concept of virtual migration as a means [of mitigating] brain drain, alongside the proposition of a Digital Nomad Visa for Sri Lanka, represents a visionary and globally relevant strategy to attract international talent and generate national value.

Thank you once again for delivering such an enlightening and forward-thinking lecture. Your ideas bridge science, technology, and human creativity in ways that inspire continued exploration and innovation.

While grateful for this Memo I will be among the readers who find the clarifications here difficult to comprehend, So let me entreat the writers to bring in helpers who can present the scientific vocabulary in lucid English-speak [or Sinhala-speak/Tamil-speak].
