Enjoy Annesly & Indrani at Sundown in Richmond – second show due to popular demand – By Lawrence Machado

Annesly & Indrani

Lawrence MachadoSri Lankan music legends Annesly Malawana and Indrani Perera will be playing a second NSW concert at Richmond Golf Club on Sunday, October 9, the day after their sold-out sing-along and dance at Marayong. This is due to the massive demand for a second show, according to the organising Sri Lankan NSW Catholic Association.

The Sing-Along and Dance At Sun Down will be staged at RiverSands, Richmond Golf Club, from 5 pm -9pm , with Annesly and Indrani  set to produce a rousing encore to their Sydney visit.

The duo has a very rich musical background and have captivated Sri Lankans for decades starting from the Sixties.

Indrani, and her sisters Iranganie and Mallika made a name for themselves as the Three Sisters, until Mallika’s untimely death in 1980. Indranee is also a well known playback singer for Sinhala movies.

She has had a long history with the Moonstones, and her Sydney concerts with Annesly, backed by the Super Chimes, will bring back many memories for their many fans. Be sure to ask them to sing  Dilhani Duwani, which is a classic.

Annesly gained fame with the Moonstones, along with the late and great Clarence Wijewardene, with the first hit being the catchy Mango Nanda. Later, with the Super Golden Chimes, they recorded a string of hits, including Udarata Niliya and Gamen liyumak, dominating the charts for many years.

Annesley’s amazing vocals and range have made him one of the most popular musicians produced by Sri Lanka. This is a rare chance to hear two of Sri Lanka’s most highly talented musicians singing together in Richmond.

Tickets are priced at $80 and includes finger food.

Sri Lankan NSW Catholic Association secretary Christian Don-Rukantha said many people had been disappointed at not being able to get tickets for the October 8 show. “This is why we organised the second show at Richmond, and we want everyone who missed out to enjoy this amazing musical event,” Christian said.

“This is an intimate event with these two music legends of Sri Lanka. You will be singing-along and dancing to their favourite songs at the beautiful Sundown setting of the RiverSands Function Centre, Richmond Golf Club while enjoying a sumptuous finger food banquet served on your tables.

“This is an event you should not miss, Limited seats are available!”
