‘Evening of Appreciation’ for Nalanda Cricket-by Dhammika Ratnaweera

The Past Cricketers Association of Nalanda College organized ‘Evening of appreciation’ of Individuals and Associations who has contributed to Nalanda Cricket in the recent past. Sri Lankan Cricket legend Mahela Jayawardena was the chief guest. The president and the executive committee of “Nalanda Cricket” (Past Cricketers’ Association of Nalanda College) organized the “Evening of Appreciation” in appreciation of the people and associations who helped Nalanda Cricket in the past and now, was held on last Wednesday at the SSC under the patronage of the Principal of Nalanda College and the legendary cricketer, Old Nalandian, Mahela Jayawardena.
In the event, the big match victorious Nalanda team, all the coaches, masters in charge, the deputy principal, the prefect of games, executive committee members of PCA, veteran cricketers, and past test cricketers participated.
Nalanda Junior Old Boys’ Association, Old Nalandian Sports Club, Upul Gamage, Gihan Weerasinghe, Jayanath Seram, Sisira Kumarasena the curator were appreciated for the services and contributions they have extended to Nalanda Cricket. Furthermore, this event was specially organized to honour old Nalandian, Palinda Samarasinghe for his continuous financial support extended to Nalanda Cricket and Nalanda College. Samarasinghe also graced the occasion.
