Buddha’s Day & Multicultural Festival
Take part in traditional Buddhist ceremonies and enjoy delicious vegetarian fare at Fed Square.
Now in its 21st year, this two-day festival commemorates the birthday of Shakyamuni Buddha while also celebrating the diversity of our multicultural and multi-faith society.
The festival is jointly presented by Fo Guang Shan Melbourne Buddhist temple and Buddha’s Light International Association of Victoria (BLIAV).
Join in a range of celebrations and activities including the Dharma talks, meditation, tea ceremony, multi-faith concerts, traditional arts and crafts, Tai Chi and more. Children under 6 can also participate in the Baby Blessing Ceremony and Future within thy hands activity.
When you have worked up an appetite, enjoy a vegetarian feast along the Yarra River where you can taste a variety of foods from the many regions of Asia.
