Success stories often capture our imagination especially when they originate from humble beginnings. This article on Sujani Maduwanthi explores the amazing journey of an individual who has risen from modest humble beginnings. . This story of Sujani Maduwanthi reveals the power of perseverance, vision, and a commitment to excel in life. Like many successful individuals Sujani comes from backgrounds that are far from privileged having brought up by mother sans a father.

Sujani had lost her father when she was just three years  Sujani the only child recollects though young then asked Mother for her Father many times , She had attended  Wickremashila National School in Giriulla her native village. She had been nicknamed as ‘Walking Radio’ by colleagues as she was singing all the time. Her mother though pretty had not thought of another marriage. It is  with mother’s beauty the duo was  brought up in the typical village environment  Sujani too is good looking which she attributes totally to hereditary affiliations to mother. Her mother had toiled hard making ends meet thinking of Sujani always making and selling string hoppers, hoppers and having  acted as a happy

Sujani had come to Colombo from rural Giriulla with intentions to become a vocalist not to be an actress. But for some reason she had studied on acting by learning the craft at Saddhamangala Sooriyarachchi’s  acting school  the ‘Institute of Media and Performing Arts (IMPAS) ‘.

After her entry to acting in Teledramas Sujani concentrates on keeping healthy, constantly does exercises to be in trim condition. In ‘Juraliaya’-telecast in the channel Swarnavahini the character of’ Shenaliya’ in the teledrama directed by Sunil Ratnayake. She has had to portray a boys character in which Sujani had triumphed to win the hearts of the viewers and the Director. Sujani had professed that she should develop the charisma to perform better in future episodes.

In the teledrama ‘Pirimi Lamai’ telecast in the-Swarnavahini television channel the script and direction was from the same duo Saddhamangala Sooriyabandara and Jayaprakash Sivagurunathan. Sujani had also portrayed a conspicuous  role in the teledrama ‘Devarak Chakkare’ telecast in ITN where she also portrays an important role..In the context of her  previous portrayals Sujani is sure to be in line for a sought after actress for her good looks and acting prowess which comes to her naturally.

Sujani has excelled as a vocalist been invited to many television  channels for her singing powers and uniqueness. She had sung many cover songs released to social media via Tik Tok and FaceBook  One cover song that was a hit was Nirosha Virajini’s ‘ SITHATA OBATA MUWAWEE.Her first original song a duet with Harsha Danosh.

Knowing her singing prowess she had applied to Hiru Mega Star  season 3 at which her vocals were hailed by the senior music adjudicator trio Nirosha Virajini ,Amal Perera and Shehan Mihiranga.Though she was eliminated in an earlier round for her singing prowess she was  recalled again. The songs she sung delightfully were ‘Jeewanaye Meewanaye’, ‘Preethiyen Sathutin’ , which received huge applauding by the audience. Sujani  is very active in social media platforms in Instagram and Facebook.

For her singing prowess she is constantly invited to chat programs for her  proficiency in vocals. Recently she sang at the ITN’s Chat n Music Friday night program Sujatha Attanayake’s famous song in the film ‘Allapu Gedera’ ‘Sethapena Kala Winda Nidi Suwe”to precision also at ‘Siyatha’TV Saturday’s “Tharu Piri Re’ she sang the song ‘Duwellen Wathsuru Thawala” from the film ‘Saptha Kanya” both she sang to delight all audiences.
