Heathrow and Gatwick: Latest travel rules for India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh

Travelling during the pandemic can be a challenge with rules changing at the drop of a hat.
To avoid a costly trip, travellers are advised to check before they visit another country.
Some destinations may require visitors to be fully vaccinated, to submit evidence of their jab status and to also provide a negative PCR test upon arrival.
So it’s better to get all your ducks in a row before heading to the airport and ending up being disappointed.
Here’s a look at the travel restrictions and requirements if you’re planning to visit India, Pakistan or Bangladesh.

India
Regularly scheduled international flights to India are suspended.
However, a bilateral agreement between UK and Indian governments means that a limited number of flights between the two countries are operating.Before travelling to India, passengers will be required to present a self-declaration form and show a negative test within 72 hours before travel.
Once travellers arrive in the country, they will be subject to thermal screening and will need to submit a test on arrival.
The results of the test will be given at the airport therefore, travellers must wait for them before leaving the airport.
If the COVID-19 test is negative travellers will be required to home quarantine for seven days.
A further COVID-19 test is required on the eighth day of arrival in India and if the eighth-day test is negative, travellers should self-monitor their health for the next 7 days.
Any travellers testing positive for COVID-19 will have to undergo treatment and further monitoring at a separate isolation facility.
Pakistan
Since May 5, Pakistan has restricted the number of international flights to and from the country.
Travellers over the age of six will need to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 PCR test.
The test will need to be taken up to 48 hours before travelling.
Those who are aged 18 or over will need to be fully vaccinated in order to take inbound flights to Pakistan.
From 31 January 2022, Pakistani passport holders aged 15 and above will require full vaccination to enter Pakistan.
Travellers entering Pakistan by air will be required to take a Rapid Antigen test on arrival at airports.
Those who test positive will be moved to quarantine at a self-paid facility for 10 days.
A PCR test will be conducted on the eighth day of quarantine and if it is negative, the passenger to head to their destination.
If the test is positive, travellers will be subject to a further quarantine period or a move to the hospital if required.
Travellers to Pakistan will also be required to provide their contact information through the Pass Track App or through a web-based form.
Travellers may also have to fill in a health declaration form on arrival.

Bangladesh
Passengers aged 12 or over will need to show proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of travel to enter Bangladesh.
