HIGH COMMISSIONER SECURES PAKISTAN FAN ZONE TICKETS

In support of the upcoming ‘Blockbuster’ Summer of Cricket, the High Commissioner for Pakistan, His Excellency Mr Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, has been one of the first to buy tickets for the Pakistan Fan Zone.

As part of a visit to the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the High Commissioner secured online tickets for the Fan Zone at the Men’s One Day International between Australia and Pakistan at the MCG on 4 November 2024.

The High Commissioner recognised the strong cricketing ties between Australia and Pakistan, highlighting the recent bilateral tours between the two countries, including Australia’s historic tour to Pakistan in 2022, the first in over two decades.

“Pakistan and Australia share a rich history in cricket, marked by thrilling encounters and mutual respect. This bond goes beyond the boundaries of the cricket field, symbolizing the friendship and camaraderie between two cricketing nations,” he stated.

“Cricket is more than just a sport; it is a bridge between cultures. Initiatives like these bring communities together, fostering mutual understanding and cultural exchange. The presence of Pakistani fans in Australia is a testament to the deep-rooted connections between our countries.”

Nick Hockley, Chief Executive, Cricket Australia highlighted the exciting experiences on offer to fans through the dedicated areas, “The passionate support of cricket fans creates a wonderful festival atmosphere at the cricket and inspires players and teams to perform at their best. Fan Zones play a crucial role in bringing supporters together to build friendships, create shared experiences and make lifelong memories.” he said.
