Janashakthi Group Appoints Dilshan Wirasekara as Deputy CEO

15th August 2024, Colombo: Janashakthi Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Dilshan Wirasekara as Deputy CEO. With over 28 years of extensive experience in financial services and capital markets, Dilshan brings his proven mastery to this new role, enhancing the Group’s leadership team.

Janashakthi Group’s recent strategic initiatives have significantly enhanced its financial performance and capital position, propelling sustained growth and solidifying its market leadership. With a clear vision for regional expansion, the Group is poised to leverage its strong foundation, stability, and experienced leadership to achieve international success as a dynamic financial conglomerate. Dilshan, as Group Deputy CEO, aims to support this ambitious endeavour.

In addition to his new position, Dilshan will continue to serve as the Managing Director and CEO of First Capital Holdings PLC, a key member of the Janashakthi Group. Since joining First Capital in 2013, Dilshan has guided the company to become a prominent player in the local capital markets industry. Under his leadership, First Capital expanded its services to include government securities, stock broking, unit trusts, wealth management, debt structuring, and corporate finance advisory, supported by a comprehensive research unit covering various market fundamentals. His leadership has also been instrumental in driving major debt structuring deals and forming strategic partnerships with international institutions.

Previously, Dilshan held senior roles, including General Manager at Softlogic Capital PLC and Head of Treasury at Nations Trust Bank PLC. His expertise in Asset and Liability Risk Management has earned him accolades, including representing Sri Lankan companies in international competitions.

Dilshan Wirasekara is an alumnus of INSEAD Business School, France, and AOTS, Tokyo, Japan. He also serves as the Chairman on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
