Josephians ring in the festive season

The tone and spirit of the Christmas season was brought to the fore when the New South Wales Old Joes gathered for their annual Christmas Carols on 2 December at the Thornleigh Community Centre in Sydney. President Chrys Fernando, welcoming the packed house of 235 including some 40 children, reminded them of the reason for the season before the choir led the singing with the keen participation by all those present.

The kids, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Santa, were not disappointed when he distributed sweets to all and sundry before presenting them with individual presents. The yellow rice and curry dinner by Favour of Ceylon satisfied more than many a palate and the occasion was once more conducive to catching up and enjoying the company of friends.

Musicians Roger Menezes and Eddie Corera backed up the carol singing and later enticed scores to the dance floor. But not before the Old Joes were summoned to gather and give their customary rendition of the College Anthem.
