Launch of the Elite Business Leaders Circle in Melbourne
The Australia Sri Lanka Business Council officially launched the Elite Business Leaders Circle on 11 June 2025 at the stunning Pullman hotel in Melbourne, bringing together some of the most outstanding and influential Sri Lankan-Australian business leaders across a range of industries and services.
This exclusive event recognised the leading Sri Lankan owned and operated businesses in Australia and those building strong bilateral ties with Sri Lanka. It was a night to celebrate excellence, share ideas, and spark new opportunities.
A number of esteemed guests attended included Hon. Gary Maas – Member of Victorian Parliament , Mrs Pradeepa Saram – Consul General for Sri Lanka in Victoria, South Australia And Tasmania, Mr. Andrew Mandekawikz – Secretary of the Consular Corp of Victoria, the Hon. Liz Beattie – Former Member of Parliament, Ms. Athena Andrioti – Director at Business Victoria, Mr Veeraperumal Ravindran – Regional Manager Asia Pacific – SriLankan Airlines and representatives from Cricket Australia, Multicultural Cricket and most of major Universities in Victoria.
Ms Dilkie Perera – President of the Council – welcomed the VIPs and and the attendees. She congratulated those present and mentioned that Sri Lankan professionals, Accountants, Lawyers , Doctors and even politicians (state and federal) are held with high esteem in Australia. She stressed that in commerce and trade, more Sri Lankan brand names need to be known Australia wide and globally.
The Consul General Pradeepa Saram mentioned that she was glad to see such a large number of young successful entrepreneurs. She stated that there is very much scope to promote bilateral trade and tourism. The Director from Business Victoria who supported the event, mentioned about the services available regionally and globally for entrepreneurs based in Victoria. Gary Maas MP also made a speech at this special launch.
The event was well received and was a huge success.
