Mahanama Vs Vaas Trophy Charity Cricket Match 2023 successful for the 2nd year in Melbourne - elanka

Caught Mahanama Bowled Vaas trophy charity was a success In Melbourne for the 2nd time on Sunday 26th of March 2023.

The charity match was supported by Cricket Australia, Sri Lankan Airlines, Lime wellness,

Spine and orthopaedic centre, Cricket Victoria, Professionals and friends.

T25 overs cricket match was played at Doveton Reserve (Doveton North Cricket Club) in Victoria.

Roshan Mahanama’s XI, Captained by SP Mohan Sri Lankan airlines country manager Australia – New Zealand and

Chaminda Vaas XI Captained by Adrian Symons of Navita Australia.

AUD $ 6670.00,  funds raised from the charity match will be donated 50% to Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne and 50% Roshan Mahanama Trust Sri Lanka.

The fun full charity match was won by Mahanama’s XI scoring 113 and Vaas XI scored 111, while the Man of the Match Kevin Tissera,

Best Batters David Flintoff and Todd Sigalas, while the best bower was Pradeep de Silva.  

We thank our sponsors who generously provided food and beverages during the game and for the evening, Wallawwa restaurant,
Dosa Hut Wantirna, Upalis Melbourne PFD Food suppliers and Two Dollar Breweries.

Awards and Hopper night for all the players, sponsors and their families was provided to say thank you.

The event was organised by David Cruse, Keith Thompson, Adrian Symons and Johann Jayasinha from the Multicultural team.
