Master event organiser Bertie Ekanaike made it two from two sold out events featuring one of Sri Lanka’s premier dance bands, Mirage, at the Walawwa.

Donald Pieries, Manilal Perera and Benjy Ranabahu showed that they are still in the forefront of Sri Lanka’s best entertainer’s in the business with a scintillating array of hits from past and present teaming up with newcomers Toosha Rajarathna and Thilak Perera who appear to be settling into the groove with their experienced members.

Mirage invited guest artistes, Cherrie Chamari , Thilak Jinadasa, Esric Jackson and Hans De Zilwa to join them on stage and share their talent.

Bertie Ekanaike was estatic at the crowd response to Mirage and gladly admitted he took a punt on this highly versatile musical set-up. He was thankful to Esric Jackson for his unstinted support to make the Mirage tour a success.

Monies realised from the Walawwa function will be sent to a worthy charity in Sri Lanka.
Mirage has not toured Australia for around five years, but that is sure to change after their stirling performances in Melbourne for three gigs which are all sellout events.

March 10 will be their last gig at Tucker Road in Bentleigh where they will showcase and sign off their wonderful talent at a luncheon organised by Chris and Annie Cannon and their Thai Street Food restaurant.

Tickets for the luncheon are almost gone and Chris Cannon advises anyone wanting to snap up the remaining tickets to do so now or miss out on a great afternoon of entertainment and the best Thai cuisine in Melbourne.
