The illustrious celebration of the 50th Golden Anniversary of Deva Cherubim ,the former Commercial Director of Travel City LLC/Travel Point LLC and General Manager of Al Harthy Al Araimi Travels LLC Oman and his beloved wife, Nirmala, unfolded with elegance and warmth on May 04,2024 at the esteemed Claireport Banquet and Convention Hall.
Originally slated for January 28, 2024, the jubilant occasion was rescheduled due to a bereavement in the family, reflecting the couple’s respect for tradition and familial ties. However, when the day finally arrived, it was nothing short of spectacular, drawing a full house of cherished friends and relatives hailing from various corners of the globe.
Among the esteemed guests were numerous Muscateers, intimately acquainted with the Cherubim family, adding an extra layer of camaraderie to the festivities. The evening was set aglow by the melodious tunes of the renowned band “Friends,” featuring the talents of former Muscateers Roshan Jainudeen and Dirk Steinwall, whose music effortlessly swept guests onto the dance floor. Adding to the cultural tapestry of the celebration, former Colombo Nite host, Bobby Vijey, serenaded the revelers with a captivating blend of Sinhala and Tamil melodies, further enlivening the atmosphere.
Behind the scenes, the meticulous planning of the event was orchestrated by the couple’s three devoted children, Maresha, Sasha, and Niran, who ensured every detail was executed flawlessly, leaving guests enchanted and well cared for throughout the evening.
The highlight of the night came with impromptu speeches from three esteemed Muscateers: Esa Para Esanada, Shelton Peiris, and Perry Tissavirasingham, each sharing heartfelt anecdotes of their enduring association with the Cherubim family, underscoring the profound impact of their bond.
In a delightful twist, Claireport Place Banquet Management introduced a novel concept, opening up a delectable food station brimming with culinary delights, much to the delight of attendees. Guiding the evening’s proceedings with finesse were the affable MCs, Pum Sarai and Anne Cherubim, whose infectious energy and charm left a lasting impression.
As the curtains drew to a close on this unforgettable evening, hearts were aglow with joyous memories and radiant smiles, a testament to the love and admiration showered upon the Cherubim couple and their esteemed family.
