“SO THEY SAY”

“English”, a strange but beautiful language. Strange, because there are many “oddities”,
many words, spelt the same, pronounced the same, yet meaning something entirely different.
“Singulars” & “Plurals” that differ, sentences that take on a completely different meaning IF
“Punctuation”is not correctly added, so many other oddities, in fact, it makes English an extremely
difficult language to “master”.

“English” is also a “beautiful” language. Here we go again. As I have written, so many times, over the past few years, in my own opinion, the “top” International language in the World today. Without “learning” to speak, read & write English (to a minimum, at least), migrants, such as our Sri Lankan ones are going to find it very difficult to live and work in Australia to their benefit.

Let us forget about “Migrants” for a moment. Since the “Internet” made it’s appearance in this Country, “correct” English seems to be making a rapid “disappearance” from the scene. Grammer & Speling have neva been verse, shus do’nt seem to fit anymore,, e’thin seems to be “cool, going forward”, yuk, going backward & if we are not careful, “Oz-inglish” will soon take over.

I am making this a brief “article”, especially for my eLanka readers and will finish with a sentence that is just a “wee bit different” because it will test the readers’ arithmetical skills.

I do not know where family doctors acquired illegibly perplexing handwriting; nevertheless, extraordinary, pharmaceutical intellectuality counterbalancing indecipherability transendentalizes intercommunication’s incomprehensibleness /Please work it out, my friends & tell me that you understand what the hell I am talking about. Thank you sincerely for that. Now, before I go,

“DON’T LET ANYONE RENT A SPACE IN YOUR HEAD, UNLESS THEY ARE A GOOD TENANT”.!!
