Sinhala New Year Celebration by SCATS

The SCATS (Sri Lankan Study Center for the Advancement of Technology and Social Welfare) in Australia, which was founded in 1992 by Mr. Gamini Perera and has become one of the leading non-profit multicultural community organizations.

The SCATS New Year festival was held in Hallam, Melbourne, by Seniors East and West.  The Special Guests are the newly appointed Consul General of Sri Lanka in Melbourne, Mrs. S P Pradeepa Saram, AMCS (Australian Multicultural Community Services ) Manager, Dr Medha Gunawardena, Senior Project Co-ordinator, Mrs. Nalika Ahangama, Mr. Kaleel Cader, President of SCATS, and Mr. Gamini Perera OAM, Founder President of SCATS and the former President, Mrs. Kusum Gunaratne.

After lighting the traditional oil lamp, the Consul General, AMCS Manager, and Project Co-ordinator delivered speeches on behalf of Sri Lanka and the Seniors East and West.
