SLISA School Leaders’ Summit | Shaping a Globally Connected Sri Lanka Through Education Leadership

SLISA School Leaders Summit Shaping a Globally Connected Sri Lanka Through Education Leadership 02

The SLISA School Leaders’ Summit 2026, organised by the Sri Lanka International Schools Association (SLISA), was successfully held on 24th May 2026 at Jetwing Blue, bringing together over 150 school principals, education leaders, and professionals from across the country.

Held under the powerful theme “Leading with Purpose: Transforming International Education for a Dynamic Sri Lanka,” the summit created a high-impact platform for collaboration, innovation, and strategic dialogue focused on the future of education.

The discussions strongly emphasized the role of international education in strengthening national development, enhancing learning quality, and building meaningful partnerships among schools, educators, parents, and communities.

Welcoming the gathering, SLISA President Mr. Chandana Basnayake highlighted the rapid growth of SLISA as one of Sri Lanka’s most dynamic and fast-growing international education platforms, driven by unity and collaboration.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Mohan Lal Grero emphasized the shift from operational management to transformational leadership that inspires educators, strengthens school culture, and builds collaborative learning ecosystems.

Mrs. Premila Paulraj highlighted the importance of balancing global curricula with local values and societal expectations, ensuring meaningful and contextualised learning experiences.

Dr. Upali Sedere focused on continuous teacher development, curriculum innovation, assessment reform, and the integration of technology to prepare future-ready learners.

Prof. B. L. H. Perera reinforced sports as a core pillar of holistic education, developing leadership, discipline, resilience, teamwork, and student wellbeing.

Founder Chairman of SLISA, Mr. Nikitha Grero, reflected on SLISA’s remarkable journey within just one year, evolving into a strong national platform built on purpose, unity, innovation, and impact. He called upon educators and change-makers to collaborate in addressing global educational challenges and shaping a stronger future for international education in Sri Lanka, emphasizing that unity is the foundation of transformation.

The summit was further strengthened by valued partners and sponsors including Gold Sponsor Lyceum Campus, Silver Sponsor Pearson, Official IT Partner Zuse Technologies, and special sponsors Lyceum Assessments, Journey by Design, Lyceum Placement, Book Studio, Lyceum Academy, and Heracle Sports. Media and technical support were provided by Wijeya Newspapers as Official Print & Web Media Partner and Dream Team Media as Official Photography & Video Partner, with additional support from the International College of Cambridge.

The SLISA School Leaders’ Summit 2026 concluded with a unified commitment to build a globally connected, progressive, and future-ready Sri Lanka through educational leadership, collaboration, and innovation.

SLISA extends its sincere gratitude to all speakers, participants, sponsors, partners, and supporters whose contribution made this landmark educational gathering a resounding success.
