Sri Lanka’s first industrial-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is now live in Horana! Launched by SLAM Power Solutions and Ceyring (Pvt) Ltd, this 125kW/241kWh system integrates with 100kW rooftop solar to maximize renewables and provide reliable backup power.
This project aligns with the national goal of 70% renewable energy and sets a new benchmark for industrial sustainability. The launch was attended by officials from PUCSL, EDL, and BOI, celebrating this public-private achievement.
