Sudarshana appointed Interim Batting Coach by SLC

Sri Lanka Under-19 Head Coach Dhammika Sudarshana was yesterday appointed as the Batting Coach of the Sri Lanka Men’s National Cricket Team for the India series.

The Secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Mohan de Silva said Sudarshana has been named as a temporary replacement for Grant Flower who has tested positive for COVID-19.

However, the Sri Lanka Cricket Team is currently training without the coaches and the support staff as they were in immediate contact with Batting Coach Flower.

Sudarshana, who currently works as the Head Coach of the Sri Lanka Under-19 Team, will take charge as the National Team’s Batting Coach for the upcoming limited over series.

Meanwhile, Spin Bowling Coach Piyal Wjetunga resumed his duties with the National Team in preparation for the Indian series.

The three-match One Day International (ODI) series between Sri Lanka and India will begin on Sunday at the R. Premadasa Stadium.
