SUNDAY CHOICE – COME AS YOU ARE – By Charles Schokman

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls”.

– Matthew 11:28-29, NIV

More About This Verse—Its meaning:—

This is an invitation by the one and only Jesus. If you’re tired and struggling, He can give you rest. This also describes the path to God the Father, but it is not one of labour and hard work. Following Jesus frees us from carrying the burden of our own sin because He has already done that work.

All we need to do is put our faith, hope, and trust in Jesus. To take His yoke is to commit to Him and put ourselves under the protection and authority of Christ.

The Message version says this verse this way:-

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly” (Matthew 11:28-30, MSG).

Pray these hymns be a help and blessing to you.
