… and Jeremy De Lima of Melbourne will be handling its circulation. You can read all about the journal through the links noted below.

The journal aspires to rise to the heights reached by Charles Ambrose Lorenz and the Young Ceylon circle in the 1850s.

This collage, taken from the book PEOPLE INBETWEEN (1989), shows George Frederick Nell on the top left, Louis Nell on the top right, Charles Ambrose Lorenz in the centre, Charles Ferdinands at bottom left and James De Alwis at bottom right. They were the core group behind the journal YOUNG CEYLON 1850-53.
Lorenz was also a central figure behind the launching of THE EXAMINER newspaper in the year 1859 and we are fortunate to have a photograph showing its founding fathers: viz Lorenz in the centre, Samuel Grenier (standing)  and Leopold Ludovici (sitting) on Lorenz’s right ; …. and …. James Stewart Drieberg (standing) and Francis Beven (sitting) on his left. The Nell brothers were also part of this enterprise at the outset; but  were posted to the outstations and seem to have participated less thereafter.
