The Incomparable Roger Menezes Back To Regale Sri Lankans

Roger Menezes is one of Sri Lanka’s most talented and popular entertainers who has been regaling his many fans in Australia and Sri Lanka for many years. His wide repertoire and stage personality makes sure everyone in the audience is covered music-wise.
The charismatic Roger, who was born into a very musical family, has performed with some of the most famous groups in Sri Lanka, including the iconic The Jetliners before emigrating to Australia.
He and his family members attended St Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya where naturally music was their favourite subject. He began performing while in college and was soon showcasing his skills in many bands. He plays several instruments, including the drums, guitar and saxophone.
The wonderful news is that Roger is returning to his Motherland for the festive season, from December 14 to February 14, 2025. He kicks off his busy season at the Mahaweli Reach Hotel on Sunday, December 15, before returning to Colombo for more performances at different venues.
“Coming back to Sri Lanka is like coming back home to your roots,” said Roger, of the most familiar Sri Lankan entertainers in the Sydney and Australian scene. He regularly features in Sri Lankan and other community functions and is much in demand throughout the year.
“I am blessed for all what I have achieved as a musician and I am grateful to everyone who has supported me and who enjoy my music,” Roger said.
Roger is booked to perform at the Galadari Hotel Ballroom for the New Year’s Eve celebration so make sure you book your tickets as Roger is simply one of the coolest guys to usher in 2025.
The name Menezes is closely associated with music in Sri Lanka, and is very well respected in the industry. He recalls his grandfather Papa Menezes was one of the pioneers who brought his special brand of music to Ceylon from Goa. “My family were all musicians even before Singer made their first sewing machine!” Roger quipped.
