Trip to Jaffna and Mulaitivu in 2010-By Harold Gunatillake

Dr Harold

This is a video documentary I did in 2010, on a trip to Jaffna and Mullaitivu after the LTTE war.
It was a most delightful memorable experience, as we noticed the freedom and the joy on the faces of the local people, welcoming us with both arms, and speaking in Sinhala.
The Terrorist war devastated Jaffna and the Mullaitivu districts , and the people suffered from the combats of the Tigers and the defensive forces equally.

Today, Jaffna’s infrastructure is vastly improved, better carpeted roads, freedom to move about, in fact ,young girls are seen cycling even at dusk, unique scene in a country where girls elsewhere do not seem to be so free to move late in the evenings.
Please share and enjoy this video.
