egathiswaran Vijitha, a resident of Mankulam in Mullaitivu, who clinched the gold medal and first place during the Mixed Boxing Championship held in India, was feted by villagers on returning home.
Vijitha, who arrived in Mankulam from India after triumphing, was welcomed near the Pillayar Kovil in Mankulam, before being escorted in a parade.
The event had been organised by former Mullaitivu District MP Shanthi Sri Skandaraja and students from her alma mater and parents of the boxer were present on the occasion.
