Joseph happened to be nearby when the accident took place. Without a second thought, he leaped into action, fully aware of the dire circumstances that awaited him.

The boat had capsized on the Bonny River, leaving its passengers struggling in the water, fighting for survival. Joseph swam towards the distressed victims, determined to save as many lives as possible.

He encountered a heartbreaking sight—people desperately clinging to wreckage, struggling to stay afloat amidst the swirling currents. With remarkable strength and unwavering resolve, he began pulling individuals to safety, one by one.

For hours, Joseph continued his courageous efforts, defying exhaustion and the overwhelming odds stacked against him. He single-handedly saved the lives of 13 people from the clutches of the treacherous river.

Joseph’s extraordinary act of heroism not only saved lives but also demonstrated the power of compassion and the indomitable spirit of the human heart.
