The history  –
Before an official Women’s WorldCup endorsed  by FIFA took place,an unofficial tournament took place in Italy in 1970 comprising of 7 countries which Denmark won, followed by another tournament  in Mexico the next year in 1971, which had 6 countries taking part and again Denmark prevailed.Since then their was rapid progression  and marketing  to promote  the women’s format, however it took 20 years from the first unofficial tournament, for a FIFA endorsed Worldcup to take place.
In 1991 the first offical tournament took place in China with 12 teams playing. The USA prevailed as the first champions and it was agreed that the tournament be held every four years. So far 9 tournaments have taken place out of which 4 have been won by the US, 2 by Germany ,1 each by Norway,Japan and know Spain.

Womens Worldcup Trophy –
The trophy has an height of 47 centimetres, and is around 4.6 kilograms , it is made of sterling silver, covered in 23-karat white and yellow gold. The trophy is  designed  as a spiral, with a football at the top, it symbolises the athleticism, dynamism and elegance of women’s football.

The 2023 FIFA Women’s Worldcup valuation ,and  sponsorships  –
The commercial portfolio of the world cup which comprises of about 20 main sponsors, with an estimated valuation of
$307.92 million. The majors brands who sponsored  were cocacola  , Addidas  and Wanda  .A total of $110 mullion dollars was allocated as prize money more than
$80 million more compared to the last tournament. Their was  hashtag record  attendance of around 1.938mn people who attended the games, the previous tournament had only 1.3mn attendees.

Homage to LA Roja –
The 2023 Womens FIFA Worldcup was won by Spain 🇪🇸 for the first time , and they achieved a mini miracle and a true underdog of the tournament won.
The girls we saw playing yesterday was their second tier team, not their main players, one year back the main team had a fight with the coach , and 15 players sent letters to the administration, because they didn’t like the coaching style. For the worldcup only 3 were picked from that 15 the rest of the team comprised of the younger players from their youth and A teams . Still their are internal fights, not sure how much the coaching staff helped play a part in the victories, but for these girls they deserved the trophy, with all obstacles they have pulled out a miracle.

Deepest sympathies to Olga Carmona, the girl who scored the winning goal, her father passed away while she was fighting for her country on the field, she was informed about his death once the post match presentation was over. Life is truly unpredictable.
I am sure from a higher place he would have urged the girls to go for glory and his child won it for them.

Felicidades LA ROJA 🇪🇸

(Congratulations to the Red ones the nickname for the Spanish women’s football team).
