Dr Palitha Ganewatta’s novel was launched at SAFAL 2023 festival - eLanka

Dr Palitha Ganewatta, a prolific Sri Lankan writer in Sydney, was privileged to be invited by South Asian Film Arts and Literaty alliance (SAFAL) to launch his newly released novel in 2023 SAFAL festival. The Novel, ‘A Tale from a Promise Land’ was published in July this year by Austin Macauley Publishes in London. The novel tells the story of three generation of an Australian-Sri Lankan migrant family with their gains and pains while adapting to a country with western socio- cultural values.

The launch was held on Saturday, 23 September at North Ryde School of Arts Hall with the participation of Ryde Lord Mayor, its councillors, and a large gathering of Literary admirers from South Asian communities. A few photos of the function are below.
