OBITUARY – MOHAMED IQBAL in New Zealand
Formerly Sri Lanka’s First Honorary Consul & Tea Commissioner to New Zealand Australia and Fiji for 42 years
I was informed a short while ago, that Mohamed Iqbal, passed away, early this morning
New Zealand time. His health had been deteriorating the past few months. His wife,
Jean predeceased him earlier this year.
He will be missed very much, as he was a dear friend of over 50 years.
IQBAL, Mohamed, (05.09.1935 – 14.12.2023), husband of the late
Jean Irene, father of Zan and Zak,father-in-law of Clara. Grandfather
of Zara and Aiden, In New Zealand..
