 LCC MEDIA RELEASE: South America dances into Liverpool

Latin America comes to Liverpool this month in a three-day spectacular of food, dancing and entertainment that will light up Macquarie Mall.

Primavera, part of Liverpool Council’s Experience the World events program, will bring South American traditions to life in a colourful extravaganza under the stars from October 25-27.

The events attracted tens of thousands of people to the Mall and Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun says Primavera will also resonate with locals and visitors to Liverpool.

“I love these cultural events. It’s a chance for everyone to have a lot of fun experiencing the lifestyle, the food and attractions of other countries.

“Liverpool Council’s award winning ‘Experience the World’ cultural events program last year gave a boost of more than $25 million to the local economy and brought more than 600,000 people to the Liverpool city centre.

“We proudly acknowledge support funding from the NSW Government and the sponsorship of Liverpool Plaza,” he said.

Traditions that have been centuries in the making will be on show along with the food, flavours, vibrant colours and intoxicating rhythms that showcase the best South America has to offer.

There will be roaming South American dance performers, roving around the site and make great partners for photo opportunities.

On stage dance groups, singers, a Latin and a mariachi band, as well as solo singers and bands will provide hours of entertainment.

More than 30 food stalls with ensure everyone has the opportunity to go home well fed.

South America’s delicious history of mouth-watering cuisine will be on show and includes feasting on traditional and contemporary Latin dishes with our muy deliciosa stallholder line up!

Bite into flaky empanadas, saucy birria tacos and sweet churros, tamales, chorizo rolls, arepa, nachos, quesadillas and patacones.

There also be plenty of free activities for children including sombrero decorating, mini pinatas, and facepainting.
