Sri Lanka is in a difficult situation. It has just emerged from an economic crisis, and even s small problem could trigger another economic downturn or collapse which SL doesn’t need at this time.
He also discusses how Sri Lanka needs to balance its relationship with Iran and the US. Iran has helped Sri Lanka on many important projects. The war has put Sri Lanka into a vulnerable situation.
