A Royal Night to Remember

The spirit first to life awoke again on the 15th February 2020 at the Bicentennial Park in Sydney. The tranquil environment of the Waterview facility was brought alive by around 300 people mostly Old-Royalists and their partners. The event was superbly organised, the venue beautifully decorated and the live band kicked off proceedings with rhythm and swing from the word go.

President of the RCOBA Theo Soumyaraj delivered a clear and articulate presentation of the year’s activities to an appreciative audience. This was followed by the rendering of the college song “School of our fathers”. The full version was sung with passion and feeling that rolled back the years for many an old Royalist.

The compere Senanie Gunasekara managed the proceedings very well and was persuasive and compelling in the conduct of the cricket memorabilia auctions.

The proceeds of the auctions were earmarked to assist deserving students with scholarships and help them complete their education at the greatest school in the land. This initiative started by recent committees has established RCOBA as a true leader within the network of global Old – Royalist associations.

The food and service were superb, the music was electric, the camaraderie was compelling and it was a great night to remember.

In summary, a brilliant evening delivered in true Royal style and class.
