Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, delivered a keynote address at the International Expert Conference held at UNESCO Headquarters in France. The conference, themed “An Integrated and Sustainable Approach to Safeguarding the Sacred City of Anuradhapura, a World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka,” brought together global experts to discuss heritage conservation, cultural diversity, and sustainable development. In her speech, the Prime Minister emphasized Sri Lanka’s commitment to protecting its rich heritage, the importance of international cooperation, and the country’s long-standing partnership with UNESCO. She also announced Sri Lanka’s formal accession to the 2005 UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
