Forty years of marital bliss brings brings Adrian and Jackie to a Melbourne celebration. – BY TREVINE RODRIGO IN MELBOURNE
Traversing the oceans and covering thousands of kilometres to celebrate a special occasion, makes Melbourne obviously something special.
And so it was for US residents Adrian and Jackie Foulstone who made the trek to join up with family and lifelong friends to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with those close to their hearts.
Without creating debate, which obviously suggests it was more family than the country of venue, the function at the very popular Walawwa in Noble Park lifted all protocols to make the couple appreciate the warm and hospitable lifestyle of Melbourne and Australia.
It was wonderful as it was memorable, when a select crowd of invitees numbering around a hundred guests took in a celebration fitting for a wonderful couple who are lovable as they are loving towards each other. It epitomises their longevity and lasting in their relationship over four decades.
Adrian and Jackie, with brother Desmond, Manager of the Walawwa, put together a celebration worthy of the milestone achievement and the invitees enjoyed a celebration that will be long remembered. Marital bliss does not come any better.
The rest of Adrian’s family have made a mark of their own. Brother Michael was a top Travel trade personality in Melbourne, sister Yolande and hubby Chabo, owners of popular restaurant Chas Cabin in Hallam, and sister Romaine, a livewire travel agent at Jet Cruise and Travel which has won some of the highest accolades in the Travel trade.
Highlights of the wonderful evening was the good wishes and acknowledgements from near and afar from those who attended and those who could not. Most of those present were from Melbourne, interstate and others who travelled from overseas.
It was a night of fun, great music from popular Trio Redemption and a superb smorgasbord dinner usually associated with the Walawwa.
We were privileged to share in a special occasion with friends I grew up with as young people in Sri Lanka.
Anne and I had an enjoyable night. Thanks Adrian and Jackie Foulstone for a great get-together.
