Liverpool says: turn spare time into community gold

Liverpool City Council is putting the call out for locals to step up, get involved and make the difference that matters to them.

Mayor Ned Mannoun says Council’s volunteer workforce is all about people power, bringing energy, skills and community spirit together to make Liverpool an even better place to live.

“Volunteering keeps you active, connected and part of something bigger,” Mayor Mannoun said.

“It’s a chance to contribute to your community, stay involved, and use your skills to help others.”

Council is looking for volunteers across Bushcare, Libraries, Museums and Galleries, and Events, with roles to suit students, retirees, new migrants and anyone keen to give back.

“Whether you’re studying, winding down from full-time work, or new to Liverpool, volunteering is a great way to get occupied, meet people and feel at home,” Mayor Mannoun said.

“There’s a role for everyone.”

“University students can gain valuable real‑world experience, retirees can contribute their wealth of knowledge, and new migrants are encouraged to participate as a way to build confidence and form meaningful community connections.

“Some of our biggest and most successful events are powered by volunteers,” Mayor Mannoun said.

“They’re the reason our community comes together — and they make it happen.”

Mayor Mannoun said even a small commitment can make a big impact. “You don’t need to give up huge amounts of time,” he said.

“Just bring your passion, your energy and your willingness to help.”

Make the difference that matters to you. Join the Liverpool Council volunteer workforce.
