In a world where entertainment often seeks applause, there are rare moments when the stage becomes a platform for something far greater, a calling, a purpose, a mission. One such evening is set to unfold in Sydney this September, as Channels of Peace (COPE)

presents  “Love Changes Everything – A Musical Extravaganza.”

Headlining the evening is the immensely talented Dr Sean Amarasekara, a man whose life reflects both artistic excellence and professional distinction.

Born in the UK and educated as a Thomian, Sean’s journey spans an extraordinary spectrum. A chorister, actor, singer-songwriter, and accomplished performer, he has graced stages in productions ranging from Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera to Fiddler on the Roof, where he most recently portrayed Tevye .

Yet beyond the stage, Sean serves in another theatre, the operating theatre as a medical specialist, bringing healing in both body and spirit. His life is a rare synthesis of art and vocation, where creativity and compassion meet.

With a repertoire that spans Christian music, Gospel, and Broadway favourites, Sean’s performance promises not merely entertainment but an experience that uplifts, inspires, and resonates.

More than a concert, this event is a testament to a simple yet profound truth: that love, when lived out in faith and action, has the power to transform lives.

Channels of Peace (COPE), a Sydney-based Charity, has quietly but faithfully supported the spread of the Gospel and humanitarian outreach in Sri Lanka for over a decade. Its work is grounded in that the message must be carried to those who have not yet heard.

Through COPE’s partnerships such as Navajeevana Healthcare Centre, the ministry reaches the marginalised with compassion,  providing medical care, palliative support, and practical assistance to those who often have nowhere else to turn. As one doctor shared, ministry begins not with preaching, but with listening, healing, and prayer, allowing hearts to open naturally to the message of Christ .

It is this ongoing work, quiet, sacrificial, and deeply impactful,  that this upcoming fundraiser seeks to sustain.

The evening, to be held on Saturday, 5 September 2026 at Ironbark Hall, Cherrybrook, will bring together music, fellowship, and a shared commitment to a greater cause.

Guests will enjoy a sumptuous dinner alongside a carefully curated musical programme, but beyond the ambience lies a deeper invitation.

This is not simply an event to attend. It is an opportunity to participate in a mission.

In essence, each attendee becomes part of a larger story, one where lives are changed not by grand gestures, but by faithful, sustained acts of love.
