I may hate myself, but not right now anyway. A song written by Odie Blackmon & recorded by “Country-Music” Artiste, blonde, beautiful Lee Ann Womac, released in October, 2004 as a “Top-Hit” single from her album “There’s more from where that came from “, ended up as a “HIT” both in the U.S. & Canada and certainly deserved the rating, simply because of how she sings it.

I may hate myself in the morning, (tomorrow), because I have to publish these “Americanised” lyrics exactly as written, but the song is a great one, sung beautifully, & “backed” as ONLY Country Bands in America can do, & this much, I promise my readers. Songs which are “publicised” by “your’s truly” will be fully worth the while of “checking-up-on” You-Tube, the first chance you get, in order to capture even a little bit of “love” in a World full of hate, at the moment.

Had I written the lyrics of this song, they might have been a little different. Still, a “HIT”in any language, is a hit. To all my readers of eLanka & The Lanka Times, This is what Lee Ann Womac is trying to tell you.

“I MAY HATE MYSELF IN THE MORNING, BUT I’LL LOVE YOU TONIGHT”

AIN’T IT JUST LIKE ONE OF US, TO PICK UP THE PHONE & SAY “HOW YOU BEEN”?
I BEEN WONDERIN THAT MAYBE YOU BEEN THINKIN ‘BOUT ME”?
AND SOMEWHERE IN THE CONVERSATION, AN OLD FAMILIAR INVITATION ALWAYS ARRIVES
AN I MAY HATE MYSELF IN THE MORNING, BUT I’M GONNA LOVE YOU TONIGHT

EVERYONE’S KNOWN SOMEONE, THAT THEY JUST CAN’T HELP BUT WANT
AND EVEN THOUGH WE JUST CAN’T MAKE IT WORK OUT, WELL THE WANT-TO LINGERS ON
SO ONCE AGAIN WE WIND UP IN EACH OTHER’S ARMS PRETENDING THAT IT’S RIGHT
AN I MAY HATE MYSELF IN THE MORNING, BUT I’M GONNA LOVE YOU TONIGHT

I KNOW IT’S WRONG, BUT IT AIN’T EASY MOVING ON
SO WHY CAN’T TWO FRIENDS REMEMBER THE GOOD TIMES, ONCE AGAIN ?
TOMORROW WHEN I WAKE UP, I’LL BE FEELING A LITTLE GUILTY, AN’ A LITTLE SAD
THINKIN HOW IT USED TO BE BEFORE EVERYTHING WENT BAD
AN’ I GUESS THAT’S WHAT IT IS, IN LONELY LATE NIGHT CALLS LIKE THIS
THAT WE TRY TO FIND, AN’ I MAY HATE MYSELF IN THE MORNING
BUT I’M GONNA LOVE YOU TONIGHT

I MAY HATE MYSELF IN THE MORNING, BUT I’M GONNA LOVE YOU TONIGHT.

THINK ABOUT IT, FOLKS.
DESMOND KELLY
