Once Upon a Time in Sri Lanka – Presented by Vidhunarthana Dancing School on Sunday 29 September 2024 at Evan’s Theatre Penrith Panthers Club, Penrith (Sydney event)

Vidusha Fernando has been a Sri Lankan Traditional Dancer from a young age and has been teaching Sri Lankan traditional dancing in Australia for over 18 years.

I have over 100 children that I teach Sri Lankan Traditional Dancing” says Vidusha. The children are eager to learn and their parents are very keen on ensuring their children remember the traditions and values of Sri Lanka even whilst living overseas”

As a teacher of dancing I believe I teach the children about the Sri Lankan culture & values and the importance of maintaining the traditions of the generations of our ancestors. Sri Lanka culture is rich in heritage and as a teacher it gives me great pleasure to impart this knowledge to the children in my care”.

I have held many shows in Australia and Sri Lanka and feel very blessed to have met and worked with several gifted Sri Lankan artistes and also learnt from them.

I pass these learning to my students who are all eager to learn and embrace the culture, art, creativity, traditions and values that come through traditional dancing.

On 29 th Sept we will be presenting “Once Upon A Time In Sri Lanka” at the Evan’s Theatre Penrith Panthers Club, Penrith.

The show will take the audience through the colourful history of the different cultures in Sri Lankan through Song & Dance.

My students have been working hard along with guest artists who will memorise the audience with the exotic colour, songs and dances of Sri Lanka.

Tickets can be purchased online now.
