Sangeeth and Kasthuri duo renowned award winning actors own Salon Prabhu in Kottawa-by Sunil Thenabadu

Sunil-Thenabadu

Sangeeth Prabhu known to his associates also as Thilina is an actor, dancer, model and presenter perhaps inherited these  vivid endowments through his mother Malathi  Latha Kurera a music teacher hailed from a lower middle class  family in the Lunugala village close to Anuradhapura who has had a determination to be an actress  .Owing to her catastrophenot been able  to achieve her desire she somehow wanted to make Sangeeth a well-known figure as an actor. Sangeeth is the third son of four siblings all males. Before Sangeeth was born his mother in anticipation of a daughter had taken a lot of ‘thambili’ ,’Karawila’  and other related nourishing foods. However, when the gynaecologist who delivered the baby on 25th October 1997  said it is a son initially she was disillusioned but on seen he was very fair with upright looks though relatively miniature unlike her two elder sons who were dark and bigger in stature,  his mother instantly had made up her mind to accept him as her third son. Sangeeth is in a relationship status with actress, model Kasthuri Jayawardana for seven years lives in Kottawa owning their second Unisex Salon located at No 114,Kottawa. When Sangeeth established the dream Salon Prabhu he had said to the media  the road in walked, he motor cycled then along the road he motor cycled he drove a car ,then on the roads he drove a car he established his dream  Salon Prabhu In the male side ‘where style meets confidence’ with chic cuts, fresh vibes with timeless elegance handled by professional male hair dressers However the brunt of the work related to personalised ladies beauty services as facials ,salon upkeep, makeup application, nail care, hair styling, cutting, colouring washing  etc performed  by Kasthuri more importantly the  overhaul management is entirely shouldered by Kasthuri The third anniversary of the  Salon Prabhu was celebrated recently on 8th April in a memorable style on passion, creativity and dedication. While taking an active part in the activities of the Salon Kasthuri was compelled happily to cut her long hair short believing it would be an advantage as she takes responsibility of the foremost part..

Kasthuri’s apart from her parental duo has an elder and a younger sister. too is a renowned teledrama actress having clinched the best supporting actress award in year 2021 at State Awards Festival.Kasthuri had portrayed many roles in teledramas viz Metro Heena, Rahai Jeewithe.,Neela Pabalu ,Husmak Tharamata, Pork Veediya,Septhambaraye Diga Kathawak etc. successfully Kasthuri was previously s adjudicated as the runner up un Derana Avurudu Kumari contest  It was by sheer coincidence Kasthuri had come to know Sangeeth, it was when he was browsing the Facebook he had seen the photo  of an attractive girl had inquired whether it was  the authentic Kasthuri. Sangeeth had been overwhelmed by viewing her photo, in fact had been even dreaming seen her photo. Sangeeth had asked for a contact number which Kasthuri who hails from Badulla district studied  in Mahiyangana National College had reluctantly given a number though not in use through which Sangeeth had contacted her, Sangeeth had invited through the director of the teledrama her to portray a role In the teledrama ‘Sal Sapuna’ directed by Ravindra Wijeratne in which he had been depicting somewhat of a main role which she had accepted after some deliberation as she had not acted previously  which was in year 2019.During shooting at the break for lunch Kasthuri had been sitting isolated in a corner when Sangeeth had approached her and inquired about her lunch when to Sangeeth’s astonishment she had uttered she is a ‘vegetarian’. This fact was a real coincidence for the duo. From that day Kasthuri recollects that Sangeeth had been very nice to her as then there was no indication of a love affair.

.Sangeeth’s fervent wish is to become a father before he is thirty to which Kasthuri had had said for that to achieve it, he should legally tie the nuptial knot as the relationship is now almost seven years as Sangeeth  is approaching his 29th birthday in end October this year.. Kasthuri calls Sangeeth  ‘Aiyya, while she is addressed as ‘Menika’ by Sangeeth During this unblemished long relationship Kasthuri has confessed that Sangeeth possesses a heart that is too good often had been played out even by close associates. He had confessed though he had not done much to his brothers whenever anyone is in need he always lend a helping hand. The deep-rooted saying “marriages are made in heaven is ample testimony in this Sangeeth and Kasthuri episode. Kasthuri is a graduate of the University of Ruhuna having studied economics, history and geography.

Sangeeth’s mother has observed closely the manner he grew up.From his younger days had been an incorrigible character very active, uncontrollable, the whole time performing unusual acts not done by children of his age. But  Sangeeth’s second elder brother Sangeeth recollected was used to quarrel and harass him always. On his own had learnt swimming was often seen swimming in lakes and playing in paddy fields was in the habit  to climb trees even coconut trees. He used to ride bicycles ,beat Hevesi having acted  as stilt walkers, traditional art forms found in festivals using long wooden poles for entertainment and cultural events .Sangeeth also had been involved as a band member having inherited talent for music. It was revealed that Sangeeth had been beaten by his father several times for his nefarious activities was recalled by mother  Once  young  when travelling in a train to Badulla with family he had uttered loudly  ‘Kochchi Epa– Bassanna Mawa’’ in annoyance had flung his shoes and belongings out of a window which mother evoked in a television dialogue. Mother used to drag him by force to go in three wheelers to view films predominantly Hindi films. Mother had related to Sangeeth many stories about actors was observed that Sangeeth had a born knack to imitate sounds of birds and animals which was revealed and publicized later also in a television dialogues. Though Sangeeth was attached to mother with respect, love and attachment he was always used to endeavour to drag mother into conflicts often which was his thinking. Sangeeth had developed an affair with a pretty girl a close relative of theirs but as his mother disliked her behaviour he had dropped the idea. However  Sangeeth’s relationship with Kasthuri was approved by mother sans any hesitation. Another notable talent from young days was his ability to portray as an ‘Abhirupana’ characters which are crucial roles portrayed in conveying emotions without spoken dialogues which he demonstrated later as an actor which a few could portray- a virtuous example is late Wimal Kumara de Costa.

Sangeeth from his younger days had been a strict vegetarian do not  consume even  ‘Maldifish’ recollects that with Kasthuri who too is a vegetarian the duo used to return from wedding functions empty stomach sans consuming food  as fried rice is usually mixed with eggs. Sangeeth had been driven to this addiction after seen once cattle been transported for slaughter observed in his village Lunugala. He even does not take fresh milk which was barred when he watched at Ambewela farm milking the cows by machines as blood was drawn instead of milk from the four teats, the  particular cow was screaming in  pain .Sangeeth does not know even the taste of chicken though his mother had endeavoured to feed him chicken when young. Sangeeth was admitted to his mother’s school as she could have a close follow up  his activities. A very good quality of his was that he related all his stories and secrets to his mother Sangeeth  after school at A/Niwaththakachethiya  M. Vidyalaya  was used to loiter in canals, lakes, climbing coconut trees  and cycling  with his friends .Lately he had even owned a small Chaly bike too  One day after school Sangeeth with his friends Sadeepa and Supun had climbed a tree to pluck ‘Kurumba’ had plucked three one on top of the tree one at the middle of the tree and Sangeeth was at the base of the tree when suddenly the owner had emerged had apprehended his two friends while Sangeeth had run home. At school he had come to know the two friends were taken to police had wanted him also to report to the police. As he conveys everything to his mother had in a roundabout manner had asked ‘Amma have you ever been questioned by police’ before he related the episode. This is a typical characteristic of Sangeeth in his mannerism.
Sangeeth had been a brilliant student too had triumphed in the 5th standard scholarship examination , mother had admitted him to a better school. However, whenever she visited his school he was found missing. Hence mother had readmitted him to her school again. Sangeeth was never in time for any event also he had been irresponsible used to misplace his personal belongings like shoes ,socks. purse and clothes when he had to spend time in locating them when he  to go out.In this Sangeeth is utterly disorganized individual also very irresponsible. During his young age unlike many youngsters Sangeeth was determined to earn money had learned to play ‘Hevesi’ was deployed at ‘Katina Pinkamas’ from which he earned about Rs 1000  a night. Sangeeth always wanted to earn money had earned by doing odd jobs and recollects had worked part time  in KFC too had said he always wanted to play ‘match’ an attitude other young boys had never thought of .He loved to accept challenges for which he was optimistic in triumphing .Sangeeth was a persevering person always wanted to explore many things which boys of his age even never dreamt of. Sangeeth possesses a unique characteristic that when he is  goes out with his close friends he  is in charge of  the rooms and toilets all  are aware that Sangeeth wants the wash rooms to remain clean sans a drop of water sprinkled and scattered..

Sangeeth’s mother Malathi Latha Kurera had been the chiefly instrumentalist in his becoming an actor which had been  her ultimate dream  When she observes photos of actors in placards in front of  film halls she was yearning that one day  Sangeeth’s photo would appear as well. Mother had conveyed in television dialogues that she often   dreams  Sangeeth portraying characters in films  .It was she  who was behind Sangeeth’s success had admitted him to acting workshop  institution  school of Duruthu cinema in year 2015.which appropriately assisted,  helping  him to blossom his talents to tall required elevations.Sangeeth mother had read an advertisement in the local newspapers when technology was not in existence..
Just after sitting for his ordinary level examination at the age of sixteen he had left home with his close pal Bandula to Avissawela   free trade zone where there were many garment factories, in search of greener pastures .The need of Sangeeth was to collect money to buy a trailer bike which he yearned for  by earning for  himself  for which he possessed a huge passion after riding a Chaly  bike when young. The duo had carried files with the respective bio data. Initially they had been rejected saying the duo was too young to be offered employment .But as the duo did not give up in visiting many garment  factories  while dwelling in a boarding house, they were offered jobs as night machine operators in a certain garment factory. From which they had earned. .
Sangeeth Prabhu had stormed into the teledrama field with diverse roles. He became known to audiences especially after his role in Nadagamkarayo telecast in Swarnavahini released in year 2021.The other popular teledramas he portrayed roles were in Shadow,Lanvee,Vidu, Sakuna Piyapath,Seesarla, Crime Scene, Athulweema Thahanam and Heart Scene. Music as a Therapy – By Sangeeth Nipun Shaasthrapathi Rupashika Ranatunga
Music as a Therapy – By Sangeeth Nipun Shaasthrapathi Rupashika Ranatunga

A newborn baby steps into this world hearing his/her mother’s song of love and compassion; a song that blooms out of pure motherly love that soothes and cradles the child. On the other hand, a child communicates his/her numerous needs and wants through sounds while the movements of a human being take place according to sound and rhythm both. Further, the existence of life, circulation of blood and many other related actions occur rhythmically.

Music is created when sound and rhythm are amalgamated. From ancient times, people have believed that music, which is considered a global language, amazingly contains life. Over the years, many a psychologist has proved through research that music therapy could be utilized in curing psychological as well as physical ailments. Ancient Indians believed that one could attract cosmic powers through music while history speaks of early Greeks and Egyptians who have used music to reinvigorate the health of humans. In the meantime, it was Pythagoras who first discovered the therapeutic quality contained in music (Rochelle, Paul, Virginia. M, 1958).

Apart from that, Vedic Scripture, Holly Bible, and Plato as well as Aristotle have mentioned that music influences the daily routines of humans.

Sangeeth Nipun Shaasthrapathi Rupashika Ranatunga-

In the Thirteenth Century, Arabs had used music to cure various types of sicknesses; meanwhile, the French scientists too had practiced music therapy. During World War I, music therapy was popularly used as Melotherapy. However, this usage obtained scientific permission only after World War II. In general, doctors believe that people fall sick when their physical rhythm undergoes any sort of change. The Russian physician Garber, who was of the same view, studied more extensively on music therapy and referred to it as Psycho Rhythmo Therapy. Through experiments he discovered that music could make changes in the human brain.

Even the simplest of musical instruments can change the Alpha rays created in the brain while rhythm controls one’s heartbeat and the breathing process. In 1991, a group of scientists discovered that sound waves can develop the amount of Ethanol in a human’s body, which is a key factor affecting the excitation of feelings. Infrasounds are what could be heard under normal circumstances, which excite feelings thereby making one active. While what cannot be heard are ultrasounds, can lead to laziness.

Music as a Therapy – By Sangeeth Nipun Shaasthrapathi Rupashika Ranatunga

Utilizing music as a therapy can be performed in several ways:
1. As a sedative or a tranquilizer that soothes away mental pressure
2. As a pain killer
3. As a remedy in nerve related issues
4. As a stimulus in physical activities and exercising
5. In exhibiting one’s moods
6. For appreciation
7. For mental equilibrium
8. As an accessory in a treatment

As a result, music can be considered a medium that has a massive therapeutic effect. The waves released into the universe by the nature amalgamates with music and the intricate messages sent by the sound waves of this amalgamation get deposited in the sensitive areas of the human brain creating excitement that leads major changes. Accordingly, music is a universal language as a well as a medium that promotes the wellbeing of human beings.
