Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau hosted the first ever Sri Lanka Tourism Business to Business (B2B) Meetings and Roadshow in Brisbane on 19 March 2024.
Attended by the High Commissioner for Sri Lanka in Australia, Mrs Chithranganee Wagishwara, Consul General for Sri Lanka in Victoria, Sandith Samarasinghe, Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Chalaka Gajabahu, and Ex
Honorary Consul for Sri Lanka in Queensland, Anton Swan, with nearly 50 delegates representing 32 travel and tourism companies in Sri Lanka and an equal number of Australia based companies, the roadshow was a great success.
The evening started with B2B Interactive Meetings and Networking followed by an opening ceremony, keynote speeches and a 3 course dinner. The theme of the roadshow was “Sri Lanka: You’ll Come Back for More”. Statistics indicate 425,000 visitors came to Sri Lanka in January and February 2024 of which 20% were returning visitors.
The entertainment for the evening included several cultural performances by the Brisbane based Sri Lanka Dance Foundation.
