After a considerable period of time Melbourne welcomes one of Sri Lanka’s leading dance bands Mirage,  led by terrific vocalist Donald Pieries.

The line-up has the added attraction this time of Manilal Perera, formerly of his own band Upekka, who has injected that something extra that has lifted the band’s profile to another level attracting offers from many countries overseas.

They are currently touring the Seychelles Islands and are reported to be drawing rave reviews.

The return to Australia is a case in point to their growing popularity and band leader Donald Pieries was confident they will rock the Australian scene once again.

With Manilal and Benjy Ranabahu in the mix, this is a highly talented set-up that will deliver something different from the band’s visiting Melbourne recently.

Master organiser Bertie Ekanaike is all excited at Mirage’s return promising dance goers and Cupids victims a night to remember. The second band is Melbourne’s leading dance band Replay 6 with Esric Jackson in the mix.

Already two important gigs are lined up for Mirage. The first being Bertie Ekanaike’s Valentine’s day ball followed by a debut luncheon organised by Chris and Annie Cannon and their famous Thai Street Food at a new venue in Bentleigh.

The Valentine’s day ball will be held at the revamped Grand on Princes under the new ownership of Alan his team who are preparing a sumptious buffet dinner.

Thai Street Foods luncheon will be a two-part party for Mirage leader Donald Pieries’s birthday celebration, and Thai Street Food’s maiden venture at catering. The four hour event and will also feature Mirage and popular Melbourne country ban No Limit with Esric Jackson.

It promises to be a great afternoon.
