SUNDAY CHOICE – The Lord Will Make a Way Somehow! -Proverbs 3:5-6 – By Charles Schokman
One of the major learning curves of being a Christian is that of the “patience to stay on the path God has for us. The word “patience” is not used here biblically in the same sense that we use the word in the world. It literally means to “endure that which might seem impossible to overcome”. On your path, right now, you may be facing what seems to be an unbearable task. But if you will trust God and keep on moving in faith, He will make a way somehow, “For with God nothing shall be impossible – Luke 1:38.
Just as in a race, everybody knows that a runner is going to win or lose primarily by his or her “endurance”. So you cannot quit, even when it hurts, because giving up is not the option that that qualifies you to be a spiritual athlete. Just remember:
- No pain,
- No gain!
As you head down your path, it might seem impossible and painful at times. And in the mist of these trying moments, you might look for understanding. But listen, understanding is not the needed requirement for you on your path of life. The Bible says, “But the path of the just is as the shining light that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” – Proverbs 4:18. Because one day you will stand in the full light of eternity and view the big picture. You will see God’s purpose behind the path he specifically chose just for you!
Now in the meantime, do what Proverbs 3: 5-6 says, and that is to, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”. Just be patient, God knows what He’s doing. God knows what is best for you. He can see the end result and you cannot! All those problems, heartaches, difficulties and delays — all the things that make you ask “why” will one day be clear in the light of God’s love. But for now, keep on leaning and trusting in the Lord!
