SWARA LIVE IN CONCERT:Redefining Eastern Music to Inspire a New Era of harmony!
Experience the magic of Swara, a groundbreaking Eastern music evening that marks a new chapter in the Sri Lankan international school arena. Showcasing the extraordinary talents of over 700 young voices from eight Lyceum branches, Swara blends tradition, modernity, and innovation to create an unforgettable musical journey.
Swara, the first-of-its-kind event in Sri Lanka’s international school sphere, is the largest school-based Eastern music event in the country. It will take place on Saturday, 15th February 2025, at the Musaeus College Auditorium, Colombo 7, starting at 6:00 PM.
Conceptualised under the visionary leadership of Dr. Mohan Lal Grero, Founder of Lyceum International Schools, and Dr. Kumari Grero, Consultant Coordinating Principal, Swara embodies a collaborative effort to establish an annual tradition of musical excellence. Led by Visharad Mr. Dilum Niranja, this concert is more than a performance—it is a testament to the enduring beauty of the seven swaras.
Dr. Kumari Grero, the Consulting Coordinating Principal of Lyceum International Schools and Chairperson of the Swara team, shared her thoughts on the event: “As Sri Lanka’s largest international school network, Lyceum encompasses 10 schools with over 25,000 students. Guided by our mission to provide holistic education, Swara stands as a testament to this commitment. This groundbreaking event celebrates Eastern music by blending cultural heritage with contemporary artistry, nurturing young talents to become global ambassadors of tradition and innovation.”
She added that diplomatic representatives, prominent artists, community leaders, principals, management members and parents will grace this grand evening to witness the remarkable talents of the future artists of our nation.
In conclusion, Mrs. Grero quoted Friedrich Nietzsche: “The artistic begins with joy and ends with intelligence.” She warmly invited all lovers of Eastern music to explore a world where music bridges tradition and innovation, empowering Lyceumers to emerge as global ambassadors of harmony.
