The Villa in Lavinia is a family owned and run hotel in residential Mount Lavinia, in tropical Sri Lanka.  We pride ourselves on offering locals and travellers alike a comfortable and restful stay at affordable rates.

Locations:  Situated in residential Mt Lavinia district, we are inn a local neighbourhood , just moments walk away from the sandy Mount Lavinia beach by the Surf Life Saving Club and the bustling Mount Lavinia town.  Colombo city centre is just a short 15-20 minute drive away from the hotel.

Architecture:  A beautifully restored Family home with high ceilings, traditional Sri Lankan red cement floors and an open plan in the living areas typical of Sri Lankan architecture to encourage the floor of air and light, keeping our Villa cool and bright.

Rooms:  We have 8 ensuite double rooms  plus 2 ensuite family rooms which can accommodate up to 4 adults, our ground floors rooms each have a garden terrace and our top floor rooms have spacious balconies.  All rooms have Air conditioning, fans and ensuite bathroom with a hot water rain shower, complimentary tea, coffee, bottled water, kettle and a safe locker.  Each room is tastefully decorated with heirloom handlooms from our ancestral Handlooms business.

Our Garden:  We care about sustainability at our property and when renovating the existing property we made it a priority to keep as many of the original trees as possible, we have several fruiting trees like Star fruit, King coconut and Mango  which our guests are very welcome to taste.  Keep an eye out for our residential King Fisher, and nightingale that frequent visit our property !

The Pool:  We have a plunge pool that creates an idyllic setting for Alfresco dining, family gatherings and quiet relaxation.

Dining:  We offer in-house continental or Sri Lankan breakfast if requested .  We recently opened a juice bar, so ask our staff about the tropical juice of the day to quench your thirst!   We are BYOB, guests are welcome to order in other meals or to bring their own drinks but we do not sell alcohol on our premises.
