VALE – Jayantha Jayawardene

I am saddened to inform you of the demise of Jayantha Jayawardene.
He died yesterday after a long battle with Diabetes related illness.
Jayantha served on the committee of the Foundation Supporting a National Trauma Service in Sri Lanka ( Project BEAP).
He travelled many times to Batticaloa to check on the progress of the A&E trauma hospital alongside Kalinga Pelpola and the Architects Locana & Shanta Gunaratna.
He was reliable, faithful, and loyal and constructive in his reports and advice to me in those years. I thank him and salute him for his valuable contribution.
Many of us have lost a great friend and one who was well known for his knowledge and love of the Sri Lankan Elephant.
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to his wife Christine and his family.
May the turf rest gently on the body of this stalwart of Trinity College, Sri Lanka and our Foundation.

Nihal de Run
Executive Vice President
Foundation Supporting a National Trauma Service in Sri Lanka Lanka Inc
