It was a night about, love, loving that special one, and music that creates the mood.
Valentine’s day at the Grand on Princes delivered just that as Corrine Almeida and Ebony and Stan Azzopardi with Stex, comprising Lex Pirotta and Denis Bugat belted out some fantastic songs to suit the occasion. Esric Jackson joined the celebration with his own rendition of Country favourites that has been his trademark over many decades.
Corrine was in scintillating form as the veteran of Sri Lanka music showcased why she has been on top of her game over a long successful journey in music.
Personally, Valentine’s day should be every day, if you love someone. That’s my personal perspective.
But the special day dedicated to it, (February 14) each year brings out the romantic in most couples and also delivers a reason for celebration and acknowledgement of feelings otherwise dwelling within.
From an organisational perspective it was a fantastic night of good music, great food provided by the Grand on Princes, and an appreciative crowd of Valentine’s from Melbourne and interstate, some all the way from Brisbane and Sydney.
If there was more than Redemption for a last minute hitch caused by unavoidable visa issues, the Redeemers from Sri Lanka were unable to make it to Australia in time for the dance and hurried cover action saw Stan Azzopardi reached out by his friend Esric Jackson rushed in to save the situation.
They were an absolutely fantastic three piece set up that more than made up for the band that could not meet their commitment. In fact everyone enjoyed this talented line-up to a point that nothing seemed amiss and the Redeemers situation delivered breathtaking redemption.
