I was humbled to be in the presence of Police Commissioner Karen Webb and Dr Michelle Byrne, at the Western Sydney Hills Community fundraiser for transitional housing for older women in support of DV.
As a people leader, I’ve witnessed over the years the impacts of DV on society, and the barriers that prevents individuals to reach their true potential. I’m mindful of the impacts to the workforce who may not have access to adequate employee assistance platforms to voice their concerns, and highlights the greater need for government funding to support the much needed programs for women, men and the next generation.
Staying connected to community at the grassroots is critical and the partnership between government, organisations, and community leaders is key to unlocking the potential of our society.
