Kala Pola shines with local artistic talents – By JONATHAN FRANK

Despite the sporadic rains, this year’s Kala Pola enjoyed a massive turnout including many international visitors. The annual open-air art fair celebrated its 30th year last Sunday (19). The event was first conceptualised by the George Keyt Foundation in 1993, and has since been held with the continued support and patronage of the John Keells Group since 1994.
Kala Pola 2023 showcased over 300 local artists from all over the country and featured dance and music performances in the main event. International visitors also showed great interest in the local art scene.
