“ MIGHT IS RIGHT “ APPROACH BOUND TO BE COUNTER PRODUCTIVE
Over the last thousands of years , historical events have repeatedly proved that wars have never solved any problem or settled any issue but have only resulted in more wars , thus making the world all the time conflict ridden. Even in the case of individuals , quarrels due to prejudices or greed have only resulted in long lasting bitterness and leaving all involved without peace and happiness.
The ongoing wars , whether between Russia and Ukraine or between Israel and Hamas or between Iran and Israel / USA clearly is due to the fact that the initiator of war thought that they have the superior military and economic power over the opponent and therefore, can defeat the other party with ease, which only reflect their might is right view. In the light of taking such view, they seem to assume that violence and war is an acceptable fact of life and there is nothing unethical about this.
This was the same philosophy and approach that made Hitler launch the second world war , which finally resulted in the destruction of Hitler himself and leaving millions of people around the world dead or injured and spreading misery everywhere. As we view the World War II at the present time, it becomes clearly evident that World War II solved no issue and the countries which emerged victorious in the World War II do not have lasting peace , as the might is right approach of the leaders of the governments continue to bleed the world.
What is particularly causing deep distress is that the leaders of the governments who involve the country in war due to any reason and based on their might is right approach , are totally unconcerned about the sufferings of the people who are generally known as common man and who are in no way connected to the decision making process of the governments.
Russia Ukraine war and Hamas Israel war have totally upset the life of several thousands of ordinary people , who desire to have peaceful and orderly life . Such unfortunate people have been forced to flee from the place where they have been living for long time and have the misfortune of having to see their family members , friends and relatives getting killed or seriously injured for no fault of theirs. What is equally pathetic is the plight of the soldiers , who are forced by the leaders of the governments to fight the war and possibly getting killed in the war, even as the soldiers may not exactly know as to why they have been asked to fight. The surviving soldiers often feel aghast that after the stoppage of war , the leaders of the governments who have asked the soldiers to fight often shake hands with friendly smile and sign peace accord for whatever it is worth. Obviously, the surviving soldiers would inevitably think that the dead soldiers have been sacrificed unnecessarily. Further, the sadness of the family members of thousands of the dead soldiers should be seen to be believed. .
The ongoing war between Iran and Israel / USA is spreading misery and suffering for people and is disturbing world economy and causing social havoc in several regions . Most people around the world including citizens of USA think that this war is totally unnecessary and avoidable and feel sad about the course of unfolding events. But, leaders of the governments who have initiated the war do not seem to care about the views and feelings of the people around the world. These leaders of the governments seem to be obsessed with their might is right attitude and perhaps, view the people and soldiers as if they are mere peanuts.
Of course, the leaders of the governments who initiate the war or indulge in war try to protect themselves by surrounding themselves with security guards and even keeping bunkers ready to be used in case of emergency. .
Unfortunately, it appears that the world will not become a better place by avoiding conflicts and wars at anytime in future , as the might is right approach remain unchanged among leaders of governments.
We have an organization known as United Nations created after the World War with the object of ensuring the world without war and conflicts. Unfortunately, with no basic change in the might is right mindset of the leaders of the governments , United Nations have been reduced to the level of a debating forum and facilitating only bitter exchanges amongst members.
The comment of UN Secretary General in the wake of ongoing Iran USA /Israel war requesting everyone to see reason shows his helplessness and the pathetic conditions with which the world is confronted with today.
