Australia have firmed as favourites to lift this edition of the T20 World Cup in the US and the West Indies.

Wins over Oman, arch rivals England and sweeping past Namibia has signalled the Aussies as a serious contender with India, South Africa and Pakistan.

West Indies and the US at home, Afghanistan and Bangladesh will be no pushovers too and pose a surprise package to upset the fancied teams.

Australia blasted Namibia out of the contest early in the game thanks to a mesmerising spell from Adam Zampa who had their batters in a spin.

Man -of -the -match Zampa was devastating as the clueless Namibian batters struggled to counter his guile and variation as they crashed to 72 all out. Zampa returned facinating figures of 4-0-12-4. Josh Hazlewood and Marcus Stonis figured in the Namibian rout.

Australia breezed past the target in a canter in just 5.4 overs and secured a place in the Super Eight stage of the tournament.

Predictability aside, there’s every chance a dark horse will emerge from the pack and hopefully revitalise a competition that seems on course to have a foregone Australia- India final.

Anyone outside that prediction will give hope for the lesser nations to demand respect and recognition.
