Australia underlined their intentions at the Women's World Cup Soccer with an empathetic 2-0 win over a skilful Denmark to advance to the quarter final – by Trevine Rodrigo (eLanka Sports editor - Melbourne)

Trevine_RodrigoDespite being down 0-1 after a brilliant goal by Caitlan Foord in the first half, Denmark displayed superior skill and went to the sheds at the break promising a titanic tussel.

Sadly it was not to be as the Aussies took control and a second goal to Raso half way in the second half, sank the Danish hopes to ensure victory.

The Aussies at this stage look ominous, and with skipper Sam Kerr playing the final 13 minutes, her first minutes in the World Cup since returning from injury, will be a dangerous contender to shock this edition of the World Cup.

The shock loss to Nigeria seems like a distant blip right now and the new found confidence and dare to dream will keep the fanatical Aussie fans hoping for a miraculous World Cup triumph.
